Back in Adelaide - Waiting

Well - I arrived last Tuesday back in Adelaide - after about 24 hours of travelling from Sapporo. The trip back went pretty good (apart from the earthquake in the Qantas Club). The direct flight from Tokyo to Sapporo was actually surprisingly busy (certainly much busier than the flight in only 3 weeks earlier). Is this a sign things are returning... or a sign that still more people are leaving than coming? I don't know. When I arrived at Narita around 2pm, it was however like a ghost town. Very quiet.

The weather in Sapporo when I left was pretty ordinary, and I thought it was fantastic weather here in Adelaide (mid to high 20's and fine). Perfect autumnal days in Australia all week. Until today. The rain has come, and autumn is reminding us that winter is just around the corner.

The trip to Japan was a fantastic experience... but now the reality of an empty house is upon me. T-chan and L-kun get to enjoy Japanese life for another 3+ weeks or so. That means poor old me has look after myself. On the upside... well... I would like to say I can do all those things that I didn't have time to do when you're looking after a 3 yo... but I'm sure that I'll just end up watching dvds, surfing the web, and overall wasting time. And the garden hasn't been tended for over 4 weeks now and is starting to show some signs of going feral. Did I mention the rain...

Have fun with T-kun. I am looking forward to your posts about your life with him.

  2. Back safely, but the workload that I've returned to has spoilt some of the enjoyment of going away. That's always the cost of a long-ish holiday.

It's now less than 3 weeks till T-chan and my son L-kun come home. But who's counting.....
